ABOUT US

EyeFathom is a product development think tank whos primary mission to design devices that are used in environmental research and carbon reduction technology.

HOW WE CONTRIBUTE TO A SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY

A sustainable future must be defined as one that maintains an equilibrium of the earth’s human population and the natural systems that support all life on the planet. With that in mind, the project EyeFathom has developed a unique oceanic exploration data retrieval and transmission system that has the potential to deliver the information necessary to influence society's perception of the state of the oceans in order to change the way society views of the use of the ocean's resources in an environmentally sustainable manner and then challenges them to change behaviors and a means to conceptualize solutions, that help formulate ethical sentiments.
The project conceived initially as a small personal use device for reef life research, inspired by an underwater photography background without the limitations of scuba diving constraints such as supplies, distance, and duration. As the project grew the realization of potential commercial uses became apparent. At this point research was conducted and the discovery of similar products appeared on the radar. The most significant difference between potential competitors was they were designed to gather data as opposed to visual imagery. The gathering of physical and conditional data was also apparent to validate the particular aspects of the visual imagery. Therefore, the incorporation of sensors arrays was an obvious choice to make.
Further research revealed that the 71% of the earth's surface being oceans was still a vastly undiscovered frontier and many of its secrets remain mysteries to us. The effect that civilization has and is having on the life support system of the planet has led scientists to conclude that changes in the oceans are a significant factor in Climate Change. Mainly these changes can be attributed to mankind's use of fossil fuels. The consumption of fossil fuels or hydrocarbons produced by civilizations irresponsible use of them is the crucible of climate change.
Conceived with the essence of robotic efficiency, our unmanned Data Retrieval and Transmitting Marine Exploration Vessel System (DRTMEVS) incorporates the ability to deploy and integrate surface, underwater and aerial visual and data gathering systems with direct remote control and autonomous mission capabilities over vast expanses of our ocean planet.
We have designed the DRTMEVS to harness adequate energy from its immediate environment using multiple systems including current, wave, wind and solar power to deploy on extended missions while conducting data gathering and video streaming and integrating AI enhanced strategies. This gathering methodology will not produce any greenhouse gases as a definite benefit to our environment.
The DRTMEVS is a highly adaptable exploration platform by leveraging the unique combination of aerial, surface and sub-surface cameras and sensor array can perform unique advanced data monitoring and video transmissions. The imaginable capabilities of the DRTMEVS are varied and numerous including, reef observation, planktonic surveying, topographical mapping, artifact discovery, search and rescue, marine life behavior studies, scientific and educational image and data transmissions, temperature and current monitoring, reporting illegal fishing, pollution and debris assessment at much lower costs, than that of existing practices. The DRTMEVS could evolutionize the gathering of ocean data in support of exploration and climate change mitigation. Information could be translated into analytical data and presented to populations to change their existential paradigm of ocean conservation.

TO MAKE A BIGGER IMPACT WE COULD USE

To find a seed investor with the vision to see the value of this Project and its potential impact for our planet.
To find and develop an investment consortium with the vision, knowledge, and contacts to better position our product in the marine research vessel environment. Then we must recruit top talent relevant to the needs of product development in the fields of engineering, communications, science, and finance to correctly position our products and services. There exists a considerable pool of talent to draw from therefore we must have something to offer these individuals and bring them onboard. Going into production as expeditiously as possible will serve to get out information at the earliest dates would cascade the desired results of getting the public to take action in their spheres. Considering the rapid onslaught of the effects of climate change the sooner this plan is put into action, the better the chance of slowing the destruction and reversing the carbon assault on our atmosphere and oceans. The sooner a prototype is completed and demonstrated the sooner we can begin a scale-up to fill the anticipated demand.
We must identify other organizations that value the gathering of ocean data to interpret and want to make it available to the public for self-education and presented in a manner that will set in motion action items for this audience.
1. Identify sources of funding and follow up with a petition for partnership.
2. To identify a group of engineers, IT specialists and manufactures for collaborating and to provision a consortium
3. Formulate a business plan with guidance from investors leadership
4. Develop relationships with scientific researchers and other end users’ organizations to gather input for the development of the project
5. Need to determine all the components necessary to build a prototype for proof of concept with a design for manufacturing a priority.
6. Consideration of OEM to supply components and validate reliability and supply chain
7. File a non-provisional patent to reinforce provisional patent US 62/708,102
8. Develop relationships with media organizations that have an interest in content from the fleet
9. Connect with organizations that would be potential end users of the device
10. Identify manufacturers with the ability and capacity to supply custom components
11. Identify manufacturers with capability and capacity to do final assembly
12. Develop sales force to train on location set-up and operations
13. Develop a system for distribution
14. Develop a methodology for fleet deployment
15. Develop instructional materials for an operator manual
16. Develop promotional materials and media
Conclusions to making the project have an even more significant impact are, forming a consortium of the best investment groups and bringing in the most exceptional talent to develop the project.

TO HELP OTHER ECO-INITIATIVES WE ARE OFFERING

Regarding Climate Change and Ocean Health, the most effectual way to alter the direction of the perilous path we find ourselves on is to transform, change resistant minds, by inundating them with images that marinate in their consciousness until they become constructive actions.
The ineffectiveness of most eco-initiatives to get their narrative to those who most need to hear and see it becomes the most fundamental obstacle. Breaking through to this segment of society requires an intelligent psychological strategy. In short, endorphins, a primitive motivator with evolutionary origins, are at the core of this strategy. As a society, we have become somewhat habituated to the screens closest to our field of view; by giving the tool of enlightening visualization to educationalists, their sub-text message becomes more engaging, entertaining, and infectious enabling the subject to look outside their own myopic biosphere. Once this realization takes place, the follower may become more empathetic in their global thinking and consequently elect altruistic public officials. If this is achieved, the legislative bodies represented will become ones’more environmentally discerning. New policies could be enacted that would have beneficial outcomes for the oceans and climate issues.
Human health is directly related to the health of the oceans if we don’t resolve the health of the ocean ecosystems we will pay the existential price, we can and must reverse this trend and now is our last best chance in doing so. This will not be done by preaching to the choir; it must be done by getting into the craniums of our fellow humans of this civilization who are unaware or resist the truth. This is optimally done by presenting the realities to our constituents in a most expedient manner considering current conditions. Eco-initiatives could utilize the data system by offering the information to their audiences to share with others, expanding the activist movement.
The present invention could be useful in monitoring Marine Protected Areas (MPA) including Mission Blue’s “Hope Spots” from illegal fishing at a much lower cost thereby helping replenish fish stocks. This could be done in cooperation with local government agencies. This could also be a vehicle that would allow the agencies to apply for grants to obtain the system.
To all the institutions that do scientific research, the creation would be instrumental in their ability to collect data at a fraction of the cost of current methods. Our device would be uniquely suited to do near-shore coral reef and marine biology research for extended periods of time; this is done by gathering data at, above and below the surface offering a much broader scope of visual, environmental and conditional statistics. This would probably be the best market to focus on first due to their potential impact and budgets. They, in turn, could broadcast more images and get broader media coverage. These organizations, as well as others, could also use the devices to discover marine hazards like ghost nets and debris that poses a danger to marine life. It may also find its way into the arena of search and recovery including marine wreckage and real-time assistance in disasters.
Another movement that could use our invention would be Parvati.org’s “Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary,” (MAPS) to prevent violations when it comes into effect.
The scuba diving industry would be additional relevant area to pursue because of their direct interface with a segment of society. Thousands of dive centers and millions of divers over the world could find this project useful and intriguing. From outward appearances, divers are at the core of most ocean activists groups.
The singularly most important aspect of this project would be to convince the mainstream cultures of our planet that they are at an existential risk without their concern and participation in changing energy use and waste paradigm.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER
If you are intrigued by the stated capabilities of our DRTMEVS, then your questions might be about the technology involved in making it work. The last year and a half have been spent researching every aspect of the physical and technical functionality of all facets of the device. The conclusion is that this invention will work and is totally unique and patentable making it a highly valuable asset. A team to move this project forward needs to be assembled with the best available talent and financial capabilities. It is anticipated that a fully functional prototype must be built first to provide proof of concept and tested before a production model can be manufactured. A partnership with a seed investor is needed to proceed at this time; this investor should have background knowledge in start-ups, oceanography, and vessel fabrication to be a good fit. Also, this individual(s) must have an understanding of environmental issues and a desire to inform our civilization of potential solutions.
After the prototype has been built and demonstrated, a partnership decision would need to be made to determine the next best move. The possibilities of involving the second tier of investment, setting up a PBC to manufacture ourselves or to license the patent to an existing firm for large-scale production.
Because of the nature of IP and patent law, I am not making a full disclosure here that will be by agreement only. If it were disclosed here, it becomes public knowledge and nullifies the patent. If you have an interest in further discussion, please contact me via email to set up a phone conversation.
